For the film title, it connects with the audience because “Back to the
Future” tells them they will be shown the past, there may be some flashbacks or time travelling, and from the audiences point of view this creates some enigma and excitement.
The
design of the title communicates something modern (in view of when the film was
made) and it is very bold which shows it will be action packed. The title
stands out from the background so therefore it makes it look more exciting, and
hot colours are used to show excitement.
The directors, actors, the casting team,
soundtrack information, composer, editors, production team, photography
director, writers and producers are all shown in the opening. The actors are introduced one after another, starting with "Starring".
The opening of the film has the information shown on a black screen to represent space and the importance of the text, this is until the actors are shown and then the moving image of the actual film starts. I think they have done this so you can see the actors as they are being presented and also because they wanted to include all this information without dragging it on too much without the film starting.
Non diegetic sound is used, starting off with the sound of a ticking clock, this creates excitement for the film to start and also links to the title.
