4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

Your audience must be clearly stated, in terms of gender and age. You should also suggest which other real thriller films your audience has enjoyed (try to find evidence of this).  Refer to the Pearl & Dean website to help.

Our target audience is 15 – 25 year olds, predominantly female but partly male too.  We asked some people about our film and we recorded this on our blog.

Because it is a physiological thriller is appeals to both genders. Both genders we asked said they liked these types of movies. This helped us to define our age range and decide on what gender we thought is best suited.

A list of films they enjoy –

• ·         Insomnia
• ·         Paranormal activity
• ·         Hard candy
• ·         Cabin in the woods

This inspired us to make our movie like these so our audience would be pleased and happy with our product.

For example The cabin in the woods opens with the institution, has some footage and then goes into the title sequence.

 

We had a lot of positive feed back from making our movie opening inspired by The Cabin in the wood, we chose to do this because of how the enigma draws the viewer in and doesn’t reveal any of the story line but gives you an ambiguous title name therefore making the product more watchable.
